Hisham is a Founding Partner, Chief Executive Officer, Board Member, and Chairman of the Executive Committee at Arcapita. As one of the founding partners, Hisham played a pivotal role in expanding the Group’s presence beyond Bahrain to include offices in Atlanta, London, and Singapore. Previously, Hisham held several senior management positions at Arcapita, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Arcapita, he was part of the senior management team with Reuters Middle East in Saudi Arabia for five years. He also worked in the Finance Department at Citibank N.A. in Bahrain. Hisham holds an MBA from the University of Hull, UK, and a Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Bahrain.

Martin is a Founding Partner, Chief Investment Officer, and Member of the Executive Committee at Arcapita. He is responsible for developing and overseeing the firm’s investment strategy and capabilities. Martin joined Arcapita in 2007, and has played a leading role in developing the firm’s private equity and real estate business. Martin has extensive international experience, having managed listed and private real estate investments across multiple geographies, including Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia. Prior to joining Arcapita, Martin was Chief Executive Officer of CapitaLand Commercial & Integrated Development where he managed a global portfolio in excess of $7 billion. Martin started his career in the manufacturing and construction industries and obtained his MBA and Bachelor’s degree from Washington State University, USA.

Mohammed Chowdhury

Mohammed is a Founding Partner, Chief Financial Officer, and Member of the Executive Committee at Arcapita. He oversees the Corporate Finance, Shari’ah, Risk, Corporate Accounts, Investment Administration, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Operations and Technology functions at Arcapita. Prior to joining Arcapita, Mohammed spent nine years working with Ernst & Young in Bahrain and KPMG in London. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Mohammed is a graduate of the London School of Economics and has an MBA from the London Business School, UK.

Ahmed Al Shirawi

Ahmed holds a dual leadership role of the Private Capital Group and Corporate Management, responsible for overseeing all global strategic client relations and partnerships and key corporate functions, while simultaneously serving as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. With over 20 years of professional experience in the alternative investments industry, Ahmed’s expertise covers the entire spectrum of the capital lifecycle, from fundraising and distribution to risk management, corporate finance, and portfolio management. At Arcapita, Ahmed previously held various positions, including within the Financial Management Group where he was Head of the Corporate Finance team and Head of the Investor Services Group. He was also a member of the Risk Management Group. Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from King’s College, London, and an MBA with Distinction from the London Business School.
