In October 2018, Arcapita acquired a majority stake in NuYu, a leading chain of women-only boutique gyms in Saudi Arabia. NuYu offers internationally certified trainers, state-of-the-art equipment, and high-quality fitness classes in a premium environment. The chain of boutique gyms is at the forefront of a global shift in tastes and preferences within the fitness industry, driving heightened interest in boutique concepts and away from traditional “big box” gyms. NuYu was founded by a local fitness enthusiast and a qualified personal trainer to bring western-style boutique fitness centers to Saudi Arabia.
