The acquisition will enable Waste Harmonics, a US-based managed waste services provider, to expand its service offerings, clientele and geographic footprint by integrating Contelligent’s innovative technology to provide customers with turnkey waste management services. The company delivers critical waste collection services across North America through an outsourced network of over 5,000 vendors. The combined synergies of Waste Harmonics’ proprietary technology and Contelligent’s analytics platform will provide more comprehensive and integrated services to the waste management industry.
The acquisition of Contelligent represents the latest step in Arcapita’s ambitious expansion strategy for Waste Harmonics. Since Arcapita acquired Waste Harmonics in January 2020, it has grown the company organically and through acquisitions, having previously acquired Talismark in November 2020, developing Waste Harmonics into one of the largest providers of waste management services in the US.
Martin Tan, Arcapita’s Chief Investment Officer, said: “Arcapita continues to see significant opportunities in the waste and recycling services industries in the US. With the addition of Contelligent, Waste Harmonics will further expand its service offerings and reinforce its position as a leader in the use of innovative technologies in the industry.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Contelligent to the Waste Harmonics team,” Waste Harmonics CEO Michael Hess said. “In the spirit of constant evolution and service to our customers, vendors and the industry, this acquisition positions us to grow our technology offerings and expand our footprint globally. The fusion of our capabilities will complement one another and allow us to offer a comprehensive waste management solution to support data-driven business transformation for our customers.”
The acquisition is another in a series of US private equity milestones for Arcapita, an experienced player in the US business services space. Over the past four years, Arcapita has completed seven acquisitions in the sector and successfully exited from brand implementation leader Stratus in July 2021.
